Snap-on Incorporated Appoints Lars Nyberg, NCR Corporation Chairman and CEO, to Board of Directors

KENOSHA, Wis., Mar 4, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lars Nyberg, chairman and chief executive officer of NCR Corporation, has been appointed to the board of directors of Snap-on Incorporated (NYSE: SNA), a global leader in tools, diagnostics and equipment.

Mr. Nyberg, 50, joined NCR in 1995 and led the transformation of NCR from a manufacturing company to a technology solutions provider. NCR, headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, is a $5.9 billion leading provider of Relationship Technology(TM) solutions, including the Teradata(R) database and analytical solutions, automated teller machines (ATMs), and store automation systems.

Prior to joining NCR, Mr. Nyberg held a number of positions with Philips Electronics NV, including chairman and CEO of Philips Communications Systems Division.

Mr. Nyberg is also a director of The Sandvik Group, a Sweden-based manufacturer of industrial tools, machinery and metals. He is a member of the Computer Systems Policy Project, a public policy advocacy group composed of the chairmen and chief executive officers from America's leading information technology companies.
