KENOSHA, Wis., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Committed to supporting the next generation of motorsports talent, snapon.com is sponsoring the CART Stars of Tomorrow Grand Nationals Event, being held November 8-10, 2002 at the Las Vegas XPLEX in Sloan, Nev.
The CART Stars of Tomorrow karting series is the official first level in CART's driver development system. Snap-on, a long-time supporter of motorsports at all levels, will present tool certificates and trophies to the winners after the feature racing events on Sunday, Nov. 10.
"We are excited about the young motorsports talent, and we want snapon.com to be there to support the fun but intense competition in this great family sport," said June Lemerand, Snap-on director of Internet sales and marketing. "We are dedicated to serving the next generation of Snap-on enthusiasts, and the CART Stars of Tomorrow represents both the pinnacle series in the sport of kart racing and the first step to a career in motorsports." For years, Snap-on has helped CART teams succeed in and celebrate their sport.
Snap-on, developing innovative solutions for tool users of today and the future, and snapon.com, will be featured in a segment during the televised presentation of the Grand Nationals on the Speed Channel. The one-hour broadcast will be shown on Fridays, December 6, 13, and 20 and Saturday, December 7.
In addition to the Grand Nationals event, the Stars program consists of three national events, plus several regional races. Specifically designed as a driver development series, Stars focuses on recognizing the skills of the drivers rather than the technology development within the machines, using FIA/CIK international standards.
